The major areas of research include Cell culture, Cytotoxicity and Tissue Engineering, Molecular biology, Neurobiology, Biochemistry, Plant Biotechnology and Tissue culture. The department has around 60 research publications from faculty and students. We have completed 2 major projects funded by KSE Limited and KSCSTE and 8 minor projects funded by UGC and KSCSTE. Two of our faculties, Dr Naijil George and Dr Sr Viji M O have been recognised as Research guide by the University of Calicut. Students of UG and PG programs actively do research on various topics as part of their academics.Students also participate in various National and International seminars and workshops.
