Observance

You have never lived until you have almost died, and for those who chose to fight, life has a special flavour, the protected will never know. This is what each soldier feels while they are on the battlefields fighting for their nation. The event of 26th July is a story of recapturing every inch of the mountain, a story of unflinching commitment and is a story of valiant sacrifice for the nation. Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated across India on the 26th of July every year in honour of the fallen soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces who fought valiantly to recapture the heights of Kargil from the Pakistani infiltrators.

This year as the country celebrated this day once again at Amar Jawan Jyothi along with our Prime Minister, the students and faculty of the Research Department of Commerce of St. Joseph's College (Autonomous), Irinjalakuda, paid their tributes to the fallen soldiers. Athullya Joy, a III DC B. Com Student of the department prepared a video as a tribute to our Kargil Heroes. The video was shared on various social media platforms and enjoyed by all. Through this video, the awareness about the events of the wartime and the valour of our warrior was conveyed to the students and faculty.

With freedom in our minds, faith in our words, pride in our hearts, and memories in our souls, let’s remember the sacrifice of those who died in the line of duty to protect our great nation. Jai Hind
