The Research Department of Commerce, St. Joseph's College has conducted an awareness talk by Dr Finto Francis on the topic 'Women and Wellness'. The session was conducted on  19th August 2022 at 10:00 a.m.  Commerce students and faculty attended the session.


Dr Finto Francis is working as a consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Mariam thresia hospital Kuzhikattusery. 'If you prioritize yourself you are going to save yourself'; The session focused on discussing about the overall wellness of women. The programme started with the prayer song of Kumari Gopika KD of 3rd year Bcom by evoking the blessings of Almighty. It was followed by a welcome speech delivered by Kumari Gopika KS.  The resource person Dr finto Francis talked on the concept of women's health which is one of the main issue that has to be addressed today. Most women are ignorant regarding access to proper hygiene, care and wellness especially during the time of menstruation. Women's reproductive health is vulnerable to many hazards and needs timely awareness and treatment. The session was focussed to address all the problems and unawareness of women regarding their personal health.

Dr. Finto Francis P 
Completed Mbbs from Gov Medical College Thrissur in 2004. He did his Post Graduation in Obstetrics&Gynaecology from Jubilee Mission Medical College Thrissur in 2009. He is working as Consultant in OBG at Maria Theresa Hospital from 2009. He is a Gold medalist for best scientific paper in All Kerala Conference of Obg in 2010 and a Sevanapuraskar winner from Irinjalakuda Diocese in 2008. He is Cardinal nominated member in the team for Obstetrics & Gynaecology doctors of Syro Malabar Rite.
Presently he is a national member of Jesus Youth ProLife. During the session Sir also emphasized on the importance of healthy diet and regular exercise among women. Sir also shared a video presentation regarding the growth of Fetus during the different stages of pregnancy. The presentation was followed by an interactive session with the students. At the end of the session a momento was presented by  Head of Department of Commerce, Miss Elizabeth Paul to Dr Finto Francis as a part of showing appreciation and gratitude for his valuable presence. 'Life teaches us to make good use of time while time teaches us the value of life'. The programme was concluded with a Vote of thanks by AnjanaKrishna KU at 11:30 a.m.
