Certificate Course in German Language in Collaboration with German Classes, Irinjalakuda 2020-21

  

            A certificate course in German language was offered by the department in 2020-21. This was offered keeping in mind the increase in the number of students going abroad for higher studies as well as for career growth. Due to the restrictions imposed by covid , the classes were conducted online.

Certificate course in Communicative English-English Language Learning Skills  2019-20

 

The Research and PG Department of English offers certificate course in Communicative English in collaboration with LaLa Language. The duration of the course is one semester with 30hrs class. The students will be awarded certificate after the successful completion of the  course

 

Course Outcome:

  • Understand English language usages
  • Understand  proper sentence construction
  • Develop English language fluency through practice in spoken communication
  • Understand different linguistic contexts and learn to respond using appropriate usages in English.
  • Develop employability skills through the acquisition of English language fluency.

Certificate Course in DTP- 2018-19 in Collaboration with G-Tec Computers

 

The second year UG students of the department were offered a certificate course in DTP in collaboration with G TEC computer education institute as part of integrating skill oriented value added programmes in curriculum  . Qualified students were awarded certificates .

 

Course Outcome

  • Develop digital skills  to meet the challenges of the new world.
  • Understand basic computer skills to enhance employability prospects
  • Understand MS Office and its various applications
  • Understand Adobe photoshop for developing digital materials
  • Integrate soft skill development

A certificate course in DTP was offered by the department to the second year UG students as part of skill development. The course was of 30hrs duration. qualified students were awarded certificates.

Certificate course in Communicative English 2016-17

 

A certificate course in Communicative English was offered by the department to empower the learners to communicate, express themselves and perform different functions in varied situations in  English language . The emphasis throughout the course is to make learning a self motivated activity where performing tasks in pairs or groups establishes a collaborative learning process in which the learner performs a unique blend of communicative activities and develops the four skills –listening , speaking, reading and writing skills of the language. The course syllabus was divided into two modules with four and six units each with added focus on training students for actual language use in different life situations. The course was attended by first year UG students of the college. Classes were handled by the faculty members of the department. At the end of the course, students were subjected to oral and written examinations to assess their knowledge and qualified students were awarded certificates

 

Course Outcome:

  • To build native competence and use strategies in realistic situations
  • To empower the learners to communicate, express themselves and perform different functions in varied situations
  • To make learning a self motivated activity where performing tasks in pairs or groups establishes a collaborative learning process in which the learner performs a unique blend of communicative activities
  • To develops the four skills –listening , speaking, reading and writing skills of the language.
