Math Beauty in Nature by Department of Mathematics

  Post Graduate and Research Department of Mathematics of St Joseph's College Irinjalakuda organised Nature photography competition on account of World Environment Day on 5th June 2020. The competition was through Google form platform and the topic was "The Beauty of Mathematics in Nature".

          The Google form contain the space for the photos with geotagged and without geotagged to be uploaded and a small description about the picture and its mathematical significance. The geotagged images can be taken using apps such as GPS Maps camera. The rules and regulations of the competition was added in the brochure which was prepared by Devika K A 3rd DC BSc Mathematics. The winners were selected by checking copyright issues, mathematical significance of the description, credibility, creative and artistic skills and technical skill etc. 

           The first prize was bagged by Neha Davis of 3rd DC BA English (aided), the second prize was awarded to Hitha Sunil of 3rd DC BSc Mathematics and the was shared between Gayathry M.S of rd DC B.Com. (aided) and Thulasi. S of 3rd DC Biotechnology. The event was conducted successfully with great coordination of Ms. Alphy Joseph (Faculty Coordinator).
