An online mathematics quiz in connection with Fibonacci day celebration

The Sciento Fabio Quest

The Department of Mathematics organized a week-long commemoration of the World Fibonacci Day by conducting an international online quiz- ‘The Sciento Fabio Quest’. The online quiz was launched on the World Fibonacci Day (23^rd November, 2020); and accepted entries for an entire week before closing on the 30^th   of November, 2020.

Around 470 students took part in the quiz. Of these 62 were students of St Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Irinjalakuda; 127 were from reputed institutions in Kerala; over 250 were students spread throughout India and the remaining included students from universities outside India.

The quiz was created by taking input from a pool of questions contributed by students of the Mathematics Department and was compiled using a Google form. Invitations were issued and shared online accompanied by an online pathway to partake in the Quest.

The Sciento Fabio Quest provided an opportunity to mark the World Fibonacci Day in a novel way and connect students not only from the College, but from around the world through a shared quest for excellence in the Mathematical discipline.
