As part of 15th National Statistics day celebrations, the Department of Mathematics organized a Webinar on ‘Administrative Statistics’. The Webinar was conducted in Google Meet and the class on Administrative Statistics was offered by Sri Shojan A. P., Deputy Director, Department of Economics and Statistics, Thrissur. The program was emceed by Devika K. A. 2 nd B. Sc. Mathematics. The welcome speech was delivered by Ms. Baby A. K., Faculty coordinator. The Resource person was explained the significance of National Statistics Day and Sustainable Development Goals. He emphasized on one among the goals that is ‘zero hunger’ and also the efforts taken by the Government of India. Then he explained various statistical offices under Indian Statistical System like MOSPI (Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation), NSO (National Statistical Office), CSO (Central Statistics Office) etc. It was an interactive session in which some of the students asked questions about various topics related to Administrative Statistics. Around 80 members were participated the Webinar. At the end of the interactive session a Google form was provided to mark the feedbacks about the session. Ms. Fijy Jose P., Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics complemented the resource person for the wonderful class. The vote of thanks was delivered by Anna Reejo Parayil, 2 nd B. Sc. Mathematics. The class was very informative for students as well as for the faculty members.
