WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2021
REPORT
World Environment Day is celebrated annually on 5th June and is the United Nations’ principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of the environment. NCC cadets at St.Joseph's College (Autonomous), Irinjalakuda celebrated World Environment Day2021 online in conjunction with the UN Decade. The United Nations General Assembly has declared the years 2021 through 2030 as the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.
As a part of World Environment Day celebrations, the NCC cadets celebrated the
program in collaboration with UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme ). The cadets collaborated and posted a photo of themselves supporting generation restoration by planting a tree in their own homes, on social media. The cadets also prepared a video on what the UN Decade is, how we as humans can support our ecosystem and how to be a part of ‘#GenerationRestoration’. Through this environment day, the cadets reminded everyone to take part in the restoration of our ecosystem and protect nature. Everyone became a part of '#GenerationRestoration '.
