(Alumna, Department of Zoology: 1987-‘90) I decided to join St Joseph’s college for my graduate studies after I heard my cousin sister talking about the college ambience. I joined St Joseph’s in spite of the fact that there were other women’s colleges closer home and several friends and relatives thought I was crazy to travel daily to Irinjalakuda. I really cherish those three years as the most memorable of my college life. I thoroughly enjoyed all the campus programmes along with my amazing friends. As I go down memory lane, I recall the archway to the campus adorned with a dazzling variety of flowers. I remember visiting the campus garden and talking to Josephites under the coordinatorship of Ms Litty Chacko later on when I was a tv anchor. I have wonderful memories of fun conversations with them sitting under a canopy comparing the past and the present campus life. Memories of the lively classes by our beloved teachers like Ms Eggy, Ms Omana, Ms Beena, Prof. Savithri Lakshmanan , Prof. Meenakshi Thampan and others are still fresh in my mind. I still marvel at how patient they were with my antics. I felt proud when I heard that one of my classmates, Anis K V, went on to become the principal of the college. Memories of those wonderful three years that I spent in St Joseph’s college along with my close buddies will remain etched forever in my heart.
