Chemistry Lab

Chemistry Lab

The department has 4 Chemistry laboratories: BSc Chemistry Lab 1 & 2, MSc Chemistry Lab, Research Lab.

The BSc and MSc labs are well equipped to execute the experiments as prescribed in the MSc, BSc (core) and BSc (complementary) programme. The experiments are performed under the strict supervision of faculty in charge and lab attendants.

BSc Chemistry Lab 1 & 2

BSc Chemistry labs can accommodate sanctioned number of students working at the same time in a session. Each student is provided with a cupboard to keep the apparatus and glass wares safely. The lab has various facilities like distillation unit, Kipp’s apparatus, analytical balance, suction pump, centrifuging machine, hot oven, Bunsen burner, electric Bunsen burner, along with other required glass wares, reagents and materials.

 MSc Chemistry Lab

The lab has two divisions : (a) Organic & Inorganic Chemistry Lab (b) Physical Chemistry Lab  The various facilities in the lab include fume hood, Conductivity meter, Potentiometer, pH meter, refractometer, IR lamp, melting point apparatus, distillation unit, Kipp’s apparatus, analytical balance, suction pump, centrifuging machine, hot oven, Bunsen burner, electric Bunsen burner, along with other required glass wares, reagents and materials.

Research Lab (Center for Research in Chemical Sciences)

The lab is equipped with UV-visible spectrometer, gas Chromatograph, 3 muffle furnaces, digital melting point apparatus, microscopes, programmable oven, rotavapor, water quality analyser, photocatalytic reactor, along with other required glass wares, reagents and materials.
