PG Admission Rules

Note: The eligibility for admission is subject to change according to the university rules and regulations

Eligibility: BA English Language & Literature/BA English & History/BA Functional English/ BA English with Islamic History or BA/BSc (excluding alternative pattern) Degree with English as Common Course (Part I), of this University or an equivalent* degree, with at least 45% aggregate marks or equivalent overall CGPA. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

For Non-BA (English) category candidates applying for M A English Language & Literature, admission will be based on an Entrance Test. A candidate should score at least 50% marks in the Entrance Test for admission in this category. Admission of such candidates will be to the one seat reserved (for each MA English Language & Literature programme) in the affiliated colleges of the University and this seat will be set apart from the General Quota.

Degree with Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry/Polymer Chemistry (Core/Main), with Mathematics as one of its subsidiaries/complementaries, of this University or an equivalent* degree, with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent Overall CGPA. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

10% weightage on Selection Index Score to B Sc Chemistry Degree holders for M Sc Chemistry

Eligibility:B.Sc. Degree in Mathematics of this University or an equivalent* degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in Main (Core) and at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in Part III (Core and Complementary put together). In the case of those students having a B.Sc degree or B.Sc Honours degree (without complementary/ subsidiary papers) equivalent* to the B.Sc.Mathematics Degree of the Calicut Univers ity, they only need to secure at least 50% marks in the main (core) and electives put together (if there is/ are any elective paper/ papers). OBC/OEC candidates are eligible for a relaxation of up to 5%. SC/ST/ PwD candidates need only to get a pass.

For B.Sc. Mathematics degree holders:- CG1 = % of Marks/CGPA in Mathematics (Core) and Complementaries put together.
For the double core programmes (with Mathematics as one core):- CG1 = % of Marks/CGPA in both the core subjects put together.
For the triple core programmes (with Mathematics as one core):- CG1 = % of Marks/CGPA in all the three core subjects put together.

CG2 = % of Marks/CGPA in Mathematics (Core)

Rule for SIS

(CG1 + CG2) X 5

Eligibility: Any candidate who has passed B.Com or BBA (earlier BBS) degree of University of Calicut or recognized# B.Com, BBA, BBM or BBS degree of any other University or Institutes in any states, with minimum of 45% aggregate marks or equivalent overall CGPA is eligible for admission to the M.Com programme. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible for relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need to get a pass”. In case of B.Com(Honours) and B.Com (Professional) and BBA (Honours), the minimum eligibility for admission is a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent overall CGPA , for all categories of students.

Eligibility: B.Sc. Degree in Physics/Applied Physics (Core/Main), of this University or an equivalent* degree, with Mathematics as compulsory complementary, having at least 50% mark or equivalent CGPA in Part III (Core and Complementary put together) or an equivalent* B.Sc Physics Honours degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in Physics core and electives
(Mathematics compulsory) put together. In the case of applicants having an equivalent degree with triple main/three majors, they should have Physics and Mathematics as two mains/majors and should have minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, while putting the three mains/majors together. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible for relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

mathematics [To be treated as CG2]).
In the case of candidates with eligible triple main/majors, C1=55, C2=12 and C3=12. (First main/major must be physics, 2nd main/major must be
mathematics [To be treated as CG2], 3rd main/major is the one which is offered to them [To be treated as CG3]).
For B.Sc Physics Honours Degree holders applying for M.Sc Physics, C1=55, C2=C3=0.

10% weightage on Selection Index Score to B Sc Physics/Applied Physics Degree holders for M Sc Physics

Eligibility: A pass in BA/ BA (Honours)/ B.Sc degree with Psychology core (main) from University of Calicut or a recognised # degree with Psychology core (main), in regular mode.

Agriculture/ Horticulture / B.V.Sc/ B.Pharm/ B.Sc Bio-Informatics/ B.Sc Agricultural Biotechnology degree recognised# by this University.

equivalent* degree, OR at least 55% aggregate marks or equivalent overall CGPA in B.Tech/BE (Computer Science or Information Technology or Electronics or Electronics and Telecommunication or Electronics and Communication) recognized by this University. Information Technology holders

Eligibility: Candidates who have passed a Bachelor Degree programme of this University or any other University #recognized by this University and have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent overall CGPA are eligible to apply. Professional graduates will be considered for admission provided, they secure minimum of first class (60%)/equivalent grade in overall subjects.

Entrance Examination marks only.

Eligibility: A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline #recognized by the University of Calicut with a minimum of 50% marks/equivalent grade. Bachelor’s Degree includes other four year degree programmes like LLB, B. Tech also.

70% marks of Entrance Examination.

15% marks for the Interview.

15% marks for Group Discussion.

Eligibility: Candidates who have passed a Bachelor’s Degree course of this university or any other University recognized by this University as equivalent thereto with mathematics or statistics as a Core or Complimentary subject and have secured a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade or BCA with mathematics up to plus two are eligible to apply.
