Affiliated with the University of Calicut and managed by the St. Josephs Educational Society of the Congregation of the Holy Family, the college has been nurturing minds since its establishment in 1964.

With a legacy spanning six decades, St. Joseph’s College has responded to the increasing demand for higher education facilities for women from all strata of society. Rooted in the patronage of St. Joseph, the college has been dedicated to providing quality education, particularly to the rural suburbs of Irinjalakuda.
Guided by the inspirational vision of Saint Mariam Thresia, the foundress of the Congregation of the Holy Family, the college is committed to holistic development through value-based education. Supported by visionary administrators such as Padma Bhushan Rev. Fr. Gabriel and late Rev. Sr. Franco, the institution became the first in Kerala to be accredited in 2000.

In March 2016, St. Joseph’s College achieved autonomy, followed by recognition from the UGC for its potential for excellence in April of the same year.
